Distressing

This is my very favorite picture of my husband and I. I thought it needed a real presence in the wedding scrapbook since it is sooo vintage-glam. So, I used an 8×10 instead of my usual 4×6. I used a very antique looking paper to coordinate with the photo. I distressed the edges of all the layers and added some Tim Holtz washi tape with a newspaper print along some of the edges and kinda rolled it back to look distresses as well. I used a really cool tag that was white and I added some Tattered Angels Shimmer Mist in S.W.A.K. and distressed that, too. Then, (and I was VERY afraid to do this) I distressed the edges of the photo itself. It came out so much better than I thought!!! I like the edge distressing tool from Close to My Heart and the Chalk Boxes from Color box to distress. I usually use the brown then the charcoal inks on the edges and use the distress tool afterward. I love how the inks just softly blend the color and will stick to almost any surface.
